Art Gallery of Ontario - AGO
Located just west of downtown Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario or AGO, is one of North America’s finest art galleries. Founded as the Art Museum of Toronto in 1900, the AGO’s collection contains close to 40,000 works of art, including works by the Group of Seven, Emily Carr, and many more of Canada’s most renowned artists. The AGO is one of the ten largest art galleries in North America, and boasts collections of sculpture, paintings, photography and drawings. The gallery highlights work by Vincent Van Gogh, Auguste Rodin, Edgar Degas, Pablo Piccaso, and Tintoretto, as well as collections of Canadian Inuit Art and 20th century Canadian Art.

The AGO is undergoing major renovations, which are scheduled to be completed this year. Operating hours have been expanded. Souvenirs and collectible art are available for purchase from the AGO’s art shop and there is a restaurant for those wishing to dine. AGO tickets are available at the Gallery’s Dundas Street location and on their website. The Toronto Citypass includes AGO tickets as part of its top attractions ticket booklet. Other attractions offered in the CityPass package include the CN Tower, Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), Toronto Zoo, Ontario Science Centre, and Casa Loma.
