CN Tower Attractions
Of the CN Tower’s many attractions, nothing is more exciting than an elevator ride to the observation level. This is the large ring-shaped structure two-thirds of the way up the building’s 1817 foot height. The observation level offers great views inside and out, with a café and a revolving restaurant.

Glass Fronted Elevators
People don’t usually look forward to an elevator ride, but the CN Towers’ six high-speed glass-fronted elevators are a breath-taking thrill as you rise at 22 kilometres (15 miles) per hour!
Observation Deck
The most frequently visited area of the CN Tower is the observation deck. On the lower level, the observation deck has an open air area which completely encircles the tower. Winds can be high at times, but it is a thrill to walk outside and enjoy an unparalleled view of Southern Ontario. The walkway is enclosed by steel tubing which extends outward to allow a view straight down into Toronto. You’ll see Toronto’s buildings and downtown core like you’ve never seen them. On a clear day you may even see the mist rising from Niagara Falls.
Glass Floor
In 1994, a section of glass flooring was installed on the observation level. The CN Tower glass floor allows views straight down to the bottom of the tower. A test for anyone’s courage, (though the floor is so safe you’ll see children playing on it), the glass floor area is a collection of 42” x 50” glass panels which are made of layered glass 2.5 inches thick. The first layer of the glass is replaced every year due to scuff marks. The second layer is two 1/4“ layers of tempered glass that have been laminated together. The third layer is another two ¼” layers of tempered glass laminated together. These two layers are separated by a one inch space of air.
The glass floor has a tested strength of 600 pounds per square inch, and could hold the weight of 14 hippos.
Sky Pod
If the observation deck isn’t enough of a thrill for you, then you can go higher. This might appeal to those who ride amusement park rollercoasters. A second elevator ride takes you 330 feet up to the Sky Pod deck, the world’s highest public observation level. Only CN Tower building workers go higher up.
The Edge Games Arcade
Try the latest in simulated games at the CN Tower arcade. Kids will adore motion simulator rides like LEGO Racers®, and the upcoming eco-adventure Himalamazon. LEGO Racers® features LEGO® Racer MAX AXEL dueling across deserts, ice flows and urban jungles with archrival SEVER. Himalamazon is eco-aware entertainment that depicts mankind facing environmental disasters after years of over-harvesting forests. The arcade features a range of other games, including air hockey.
360 Restaurant
The 360 Restaurant is on a rotating section of the observation level. This section rotates a complete 360 degrees every hour, providing diners with an always changing view of the city below. Meals are pricey, but the 300-seat restaurant has received many awards and accolades for the quality of its menus, and elevator service is complimentary with a main course meal. Always make reservations for the 360 Restaurant.
Maple Leaf Cinema
This small cinema regularly shows a 15 minute film called The Height of Excellence, recounting the construction of the CN Tower.
