Downtown Toronto
The downtown Toronto skyline is one of the more memorable and well known skyline’s in North America. The downtown skyline is composed of Toronto’s massive skyscrapers crowned by the CN Tower which is visited by millions every year. With the restoration of many of downtown Toronto’s neighbourhoods, tourists are finding visiting and exploring the downtown area a new experience. Toronto’s distillery district, St Lawrence district, and the theatre district along with Harbourfront provide old architecture, great restaurants, and entertainment and fun family activities.

Yonge Street is considered the centre of Toronto, and is the beginning of the world’s longest street running all the way to Sault St Marie, Ontario, over 1178 miles. Yonge Street was Toronto’s busiest street in day past, and is still full of throngs of shoppers and tourists today. The tall buildings run up to about Dundas Street, however most people consider downtown Toronto to extend all the way to about Bloor Street.
The heart of Toronto’s financial district is just to the west of Yonge Street from Front Street to Adelaide, on Bay Street. This is where Toronto’s tallest buildings are such as Scotia Plaza, First Canadian Place, Canada Trust Tower, and Commerce Court West. Trump Tower, a huge condominium tower will be Toronto’s newest skycraper. It will be close to 700 feet high. Many older buildings in downtown Toronto have been converted into condominium lofts. As rental costs have risen, many businesses are moving westward along Queen St. Buildings have been refurbished for business and you’ll find boutique shops as well.
Toronto’s Pathway system runs underground between the major buildings in Downtown Toronto. During business hours, the foot traffic is heavy in the Pathway system. There are hundreds of retail stores and shops to explore.
Delta Chelsea is Toronto’s entertainment hotel, perfectly situated in the middle of the Toronton Entertainment district, near Toronto major entertainment venues including Toronto threatre buildings. From here, you can also walk to Toronto’s major entertainment venues such as the Roger Centre (Skydome), Air Canada Centre, Roy Thomson Hall. CN Tower and the popular harbourfront area are very close by. Eaton Centre, Toronto’s major galleria mall is one shopping experience you won’t want to miss. This mall, located right on Yonge Street is one of Canada’s major shopping malls.
