Drop Zone Stunt Tower

Sledgehammer Imagine an elevator ride to the 24th floor and then then released to free fall at incredible speed. That's the thrill Drop Zone lovers rave about just as much as about the other rides and roller coasters.

Drop Zone has three elevator cars carrying 4 people each. The cars ascend at 16 feet per second and then are released at the top. The cars free fall for what seems a couple of seconds. Official reports are of 100km per hour drop speeds, but real speeds are probably much higher. When you stand below the ride, you'll agree that the speed of descent is wicked. The ride has a very smooth stop at the bottom so that riders are stirred and not shaken.

One other feature of this a high-speed transport lift at its 230 foot apex, is a great view of Canada's Wonderland. Other rides that reach high speeds are Psyclone, Vortex and Xtreme Skyflyer.
