Toronto Theatre Dirty Dancing
Mirvish Productions is presenting Dirty Dancing, adapted from the hit movie with Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. Demand for this performance has been strong and is being extended to June 2008. A feel good film from the 80's, the story center on young woman who goes on a family holiday to a summer camp with her sister and parents. There she meets Johnny, a dance instructor. She discovers that Johnny is involved in his own dance community after work where everyone dances dirty. She agrees to dirty dance in competition when she learns it would an fund an abortion for a woman needing one. The couple get to know each other and then become lovers. Her parents are not best pleased with the relationship and they won't allow her to see him anymore. In the end, the issues are resolved and they dance together in front of an audience. The music tracks from Dirty Dancing was compiled into one of the best selling albums and the performance offers them for your enjoyment.
Dirty Dancing will be playing at the Royal Alexandra Theatre with performances beginning on October 31, 2007.
