The rock group Queen was one of the most popular British groups in the 1970's and 80's. They created the type of music that works well with theatre performances. Opera Rock is often associated with Queen. The music video Bohemian Rhapsody was considered by some to be the first rock promotional video.
We Will Rock You is set in the future where complete globalization has lead to everyone listening to the same music. All musical instruments are banned and musical hits are planned by the authorities well in advance. A growing group of rebels, the Bohemians, are driven by their disatisfaction to create a new form of music. Lead by the poor boy from a poor family, the rebels have a leader in their quest.
We Will Rock You is playing at the Royal Alexandra Theatre with performances beginning on October 31, 2007.
