Canada’s Hockey Hall of Fame

Hockey is Canada’s national pastime and there is great pride in the history of the sport, both professional and amateur. The Toronto Hockey Hall of Fame venue in downtown Toronto is located near the Air Canada Centre, the Toronto subway system, the CN Tower, Skydome, and the Toronto harbourfront so you can easily visit all the popular Toronto attractions in one day.

The weekend of November 10-11th, saw five legends of modern hockey inducted into the Hall of Fame. Al MacInnis, Scott Stevens, Marc Messier, Jim Gregory, and Ron Francis were this year's inductees.

The original Hockey Hall of Fame opened in 1961 on the grounds of the Canadian National Exhibition which is just west of downtown Toronto near the waterfront, between Bathurst and Dufferin Streets. This exhibit was a popular venue during the annual CNE which is one of the world’s top annual exhibitions.

In 1993, the Hockey Hall of Fame was relocated to its current location in the former Bank of Montreal building within BCE Place on the corner of Yonge and Front Streets. This is considered by many to be the center of downtown Toronto.

Hundreds of former National Hockey League players, league officials, and league builders have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. The exhibit offers retrospectives on various players careers including collections of player's hockey equipment used throughout the last century. There are interactive exhibits for kids allowing them to test their hockey skills and learn more about the game.
