The Story
The Phantom of The Opera is based on a Gothic novel, combining romance, horror fiction, mystery, tragedy, comedy, and adventure which is why it has drawn such a wide audience since it’s first appearance. Drawn from the classic film, the Phantom of the Opera by Warner Brothers, the story is about a horribly disfigured and eccentric man named Erik, the Phantom, who terrorizes the Opera Garnier in Paris, France. He builds his home beneath it and takes the love of his life, a beautiful soprano, under his wing.
Other upcoming performances at The Royal Alexandra Theatre include Dirty Dancing (starting October 27th, 2007). Tickets available at TicketKing and at the Royal Alex box office. Full running time for the play is 2 and a half hours.
