Toronto Blue Jays

SkyDome Daktronics ScoreboardProfessional baseball has a long history in Toronto. Until 1937, professional games were played on Center Island and Babe Ruth even played his first professional baseball at the Center Island Park. In 1992 and 1993 the Blue Jays accomplished the seemingly impossible by winning the World Series twice in a row, and the team is once again looking like a contender for the pennant in the American League East Division.

The Blue Jays play at the Rogers Centre (formerly the Skydome) and there are plenty of good quality seats available for games. In contrast to the 90s, when Blue Jays tickets were scarce, this summer you’ll be able to find Blue Jay tickets.
The Blue Jays have done well in their 30-year history, fielding solid teams throughout the 1980’s despite never reaching the World Series. They’re a fun team to watch, and the games are even better when the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees or Detroit Tigers are in town.

Seating at the Rogers Centre is plentiful. There are 5 deck levels and every seating level offers a different view of the stadium and playing field. The CN Tower is right next door. Even the Skydome’s Hard Rock Café offers seating with a view of the field. You can make reservations for your dinner and watch a game from the café.

The Rogers Centre has one of the largest video screens in any sports stadium, a $6 million scoreboard by Daktronics (replaced the old Jumbotron scoreboard), which shows short videos and replays along with player stats for the benefit of the fans. The Skydome roof is retractable, and can be opened during good weather. If storms threaten, the roof is closed to shelter fans and players alike from heavy rain or lightning.

Toronto Blue Jay Tickets

Tickets to the games are usually easy to find. However, the best seats at the ground level and on the second deck are often sold out. Higher seating still offers great viewing. You can buy Blue Jay Tickets at the Rogers Centre or online via a number of ticket resellers. Good seats to sell-out games will only be available through ticket resellers and will be priced above the original ticket price. If you are eager to see a Toronto Blue Jays game, you should be able to find tickets.

The Rogers Centre is very close to many excellent Toronto hotels, as well as Toronto restaurants, and shopping. You’ll find that Blue Jay games are an integral part of experiencing Toronto and meeting Toronto residents. We’re always delighted to meet visitors, and hope to leave everyone with fond memories of Toronto and their visits to Skydome and the CN Tower.
