Toronto Music Garden - Harbourfront

This summer and fall, enjoy free concerts of classical music and dance at The Toronto Music Garden. Tour the enchanted lakeside garden and beautiful landscapes designed by Julie Moir Messervy in collaboration with world renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma and his  interpretation of Bach’s Suite No. 1 for Unaccompanied Cello. All season long, free concerts will showcase Canadian artists of international renown. Before settling in for the  concerts, enjoy a stroll through the beautiful gardens. Guided tours lasting 45 minutes start at the west end of the Garden's Prelude section.

Performances this season have included: Thundering Silence by the Kiyoshi Nagata Ensemble using Japanese taiko drums, bamboo flutes and shamisen; Esmeralda Enrique Spanish Dance Company’s passionate blend of flamenco dancing and the vocals of Jose Luis Perez; and Bach At Dusk, featuring Winona Zelenka and her solo cello performance of Suite No. 3 in C Major from Bach's Six Suites for Unaccompanied Cello. The Taming of the Horn is the season finale. The Horns of Roncesvalles amiably guide you through the evolution of the French horn, with music composed by the Marquis de Dampierre and other celebrated hornists.
